2/7/25 - 4:00 pm. - Power has been restored to Gouger Neck/Lookout, Bieber, Lake City/Ft. Bidwell, and Canby. Crews are currently working to restore power in Stone Coal Valley and Rush Creek.

2/7/25 - 8:30 a.m. - Our internet is down this morning, so updates on Facebook and our website will be limited until internet service is restored. We are currently aware of some outages in the following areas:

2/5/25 - 8:50 a.m. - One of our CA crews is taking an emergency outage for repairs that affects SVEC members north of Davis Creek, from Sugar Hill to the OR border, and in the New Pine Creek area, north to Old Wells Ln. Power is estimated to be restored around 10:15 a.m. Thank you.


Update (2/5/25 - 3:15 p.m.): Power has been restored along Hwy 140, from Odegaard Rd. to Patten Meadow Rd.  Our crew is still working to restore power to Patten Meadow Rd./Grizzly Peak, and west through Drews Valley/Antelope Valley Ranch.

Update (2/4/25 - 2:45 p.m.): Our crew estimates time of restoration for the Surprise Valley area around 6:00 p.m.

2/4/25 - 11:30 a.m. - We are receiving reports of outages in Surprise Valley (Fort Bidwell, Lake City, Cedarville, Steamboat, Eagleville).  A crew is in the area, working to address the issue & restore power as soon as possible.

NOTE: We are aware of the distribution lines that are down near mile marker 34.5 alongside County Road 1, east of the Lake City substation. These lines are de-energized and will be fixed after outages are restored. Please report any other downed lines by calling 530-233-3511 and keep a safe distance of at least 30 feet away.

Update (2/4/25 - 1:07 p.m.): CORRECTION to 12:45 p.m. update - Our crew informed us that a new discovery indicates Odegaard Rd., Fish Creek, Patten Meadow Rd., and Drews Valley are still without power.

Update (2/4/25 - 12:45 p.m.): As of approximately 12:15 p.m., power has been restored to the areas of Andy Hill Rd. between Shults Ln & Hwy 140, as well as Hwy 140 from Andy Hill Rd, west - including Odegaard Rd., Fish Creek, Patten Meadow Rd., and Drews Valley. Crews are still working to restore power to the other areas listed below, in our 11:45 a.m. update.

Update (2/4/25 - 11:45 a.m.): Pacific Power has restored power to our Oregon service territory, but we are aware that some members may still be without power due to weather-related issues that existed prior to the Pacific Power outage that began around 5 a.m. this morning. IF YOU ARE STILL WITHOUT POWER, please let us know by calling 530-233-3511. Outages we are aware of in Oregon are in the following areas:

* Drews Reservoir - including most of Dog Lake Ln (Westside)
* Andy Hill Rd between Shults Ln & Hwy 140 (Westside)

Update (2/3/25 - 5:39 p.m.): Power has been restored to the Plush, OR area. Crews are currently still working to restore power in Adel, Lakeview, Davis Creek, Fort Bidwell, Lake City, and Vya.

Update (2/3/25 - 5:17 p.m.): Power has been restored in the Crooked Creek area.

Update (2/3/25 - 5:10 p.m.): Our crew estimates a time of restoration for Fort Bidwell, Lake City, and Vya around 9:30 p.m.

Update (2/3/25 - 4:29 p.m.): Our crews continue to work in the areas of Crooked Creek, Adel, and Plush, OR. At this time we do not have an estimated time of restoration for these areas.

Update (2/3/25 - 4:00 p.m.): Power has been restored in the Willow Ranch/Davis Creek area, with the exception of one Davis Creek location that the crew is working on now.

Our Lakeview crew has confirmed that members on the west side, in the Odegaard Rd. area and west of Andy Hill Rd. remain out of power at this time.  The crew is still working to identify the cause of the outage.

Additionally, in California & Nevada, members in the Lake City, Fort Bidwell, and Vya areas remain out of power, with an undetermined time of restoration.  Our crew is working in windy conditions to repair wind-damaged pole as quickly and safely as possible.  Thank you for your continued patience & understanding.

Update (2/3/25 - 3:25 p.m.):  Our Lakeview crew estimates that power MAY be back on in the Lakeview area around 4 p.m.

Update (2/3/25 - 2:20 p.m.): Power has been restored in the Cedarville, Steamboat, and Eagleville areas.  Power remains off in Fort Bidwell & Lake City at this time, along with the areas from our 8:20 a.m. post that have not yet been restored (see all updates below).

Update (2/3/25 - 1:30 p.m.):  We have received reports of new outages in Fort Bidwell, Lake City, Cedarville, and Eagleville.  A crew has been dispatched.

Update (2/3/25 - 11:57 a.m.): Power has been restored in the Canby area.

12/31/24 - 12:00 p.m. - We were just informed that our crew will need to take an emergency outage for repairs this afternoon from approximately 1:00 p.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. that will affect SVEC members in Fort Bidwell & Lake City.  Additionally, members in the Cedarville, Steamboat, and Eagleville areas will experience a blink at the beginning of this outage, and another blink at the end.  Thank you for your patience & understanding.


11/13/24 - 10:05 a.m. - There is currently a power outage affecting SVEC members in the Summer Lake, OR area.  A crew has been dispatched.  We will update this post during business hours as more information becomes available.  Thank you for your patience & understanding.

10/9/24 - 9:00 a.m. - We are currently aware of an outage affecting SVEC members on the west circuit of our Alturas substation, in the following areas: Daphnedale, parts of the Modoc Recreational Estates, and the Bowman Road area.  A crew has been dispatched.  Thank you for your patience & cooperation.


 

10/2/24 - 9:30 a.m. - Our office was just informed that our crew needs to take an emergency outage for repairs that will affect members in the Davis Creek area, and north to the Oregon border, from approximately 9:30 a.m. to approximately 10:00 a.m.  Thank you for your patience & understanding.

9/26/24 - Our crew informed us shortly before 10:00 a.m. that there will be an outage for maintenance affecting SVEC members from the Likely substation, north to the Lyneta Road from approximately 10:00 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m.  Thank you for your patience & understanding.

UPDATE (9/16/24) - Around 12:20 p.m., our lineman reported that the crew has found the issue and will need some time to fix it.  Power is expected to remain off for at least a couple more hours.

8/2/24 - approximately 1:30 p.m.: Due to power supply from Pacific Power being interrupted, SVEC members in the area of Daphnedale, Parker Creek, and northeast of Alturas to Thoms Creek are out of power.  We at SVEC thank you for your patience as we wait for the Pacific Power crew to restore power.

7/16/24 - 1:00 p.m.: We are aware of an outage in the Ravendale area.  A crew has been dispatched and is working to restore power as soon as possible.

 

UPDATE (7/12/24): As of approximately 2:15 p.m., power has been restored to members in the Thomas Creek area, meaning all members who have been out of power today should now have power.  Also, members with irrigation accounts are encouraged to irrigate as normal.  If you are still experiencing a power outage, please call our office at 530-233-3511.  Thank you.

UPDATE (7/12/24): As of approximately 12:33 p.m., power has been restored to members in the Dorris Reservoir & Parker Creek areas.  Crews are still working to restore power to members in the Thomas Creek area.  Thank you.

UPDATE (7/12/24): As of approximately 10:30 a.m., power has been restored to members west of Alturas.  Crews are still working to restore power to members east of Alturas (around Dorris Reservoir, Parker Creak, Thomas Creek, etc.).  If you are within the areas west of Alturas and are still experiencing a power outage, please call our office at 530-233-3511.  Thank you.

ATTENTION (7/12/24 - approximately 10:00 a.m.): Our crews are working to temporarily reroute power to some of our members that are currently without power.  This will cause a short blink to members in the Cal Pines area.

IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED that members with irrigation accounts in the affected areas west and east of Alturas leave pumps off for a while to prevent overload while power is routed differently than usual.

7/12/24 (approximately 7:30 a.m.): SVE members east and west of Alturas have been without power since approximately 6:15 a.m.  SVE crews as well as PP&L crews are working to find the source of the outage, and will restore power as soon as possible.  The related PP&L outage took out power at our office for a while this morning, leaving us unable to answer phone calls temporarily.  Power has been restored at our office and we are now able to carry on business as usual.  We at SVE appreciate your patience & understanding.

6/4/24 - There will be an emergency outage for repairs this afternoon, Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, from approximately 1:00 p.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m.  This outage will affect Surprise Valley Electric members in the areas of Adel & Plush, Oregon.  Members affected will receive an automated phone call on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, notifying them of the outage.  Thank you for your patience & understanding.
